Going back to hell...

It's the first episode of Series Three and we're travelling back through the years to Bromley at the time when the 1950s were rolling over into the 1960s... It was then that a young Billy Jenkins was taken from his happy world in the back garden to the church hall and cast into the hell that was nursery school.

Our presenter assured everyone that there could be no harm in applying a little hypnotic regression to proceedings and it certainly seemed to be working fine - until the inner child decided he was going out to play football, put his ball through a window and ran off into the distance.

We hope to get Billy back for the next episode...

This episode introduces a very special guest performer, Daniel Lemmard, Billy's grandson. When Daniel, then six years old, heard his grandfather's voice on an earlier snapcast, he was so excited he asked if he could take part in an episode. Since Billy is someone who definitely puts the "grand" in grandfather he devised this episode especially for Daniel's podcast debut. And we had a very good time recording it.

The Billy Jenkins Listening Club webcast is presented by creative photographer and former jazz columnist Beowulf "Wulfie" Mayfield, pictured above.

The music played in this episode is a live recording of First Day In Hell from Life.
